How to Make Your Readers Post a Comment
Comments are feedbacks from your readers, and a post without a comment is like a post that nobody has read. It is also the living proof that your post is interesting to read. It is quite frustrating to learn that your hard work has seem to vanish in thin air, and this might stop you from making your next post as good as the previous one.
With this, consider these tips to make your readers interact with you.
Make your post attractive
Besides choosing a good topic, making it attractive to your readers is like inviting them to post a comment. There are a lot of ways to do it which includes making it readable to the human eye, addition of related pictures, and maintaining minimal grammar and spelling mistakes. Request some friends to view it first before submission and ask for their comments. This will convince your readers that you are sincere with them.
Invite them
Besides your conclusion for your post, you can invite them to post their comments and suggestions in your footnote. A good quote at the end of your post can also attract comments. But be humble when you do it. Readers are attracted to humble invitation that sometimes they will comment even they have the second thought of doing so. You can also ask them by having your title as an intriguing question or a provocative phrase.
Leave them a space
A good post is worth replying for, but if you already discussed each detail then they will have nothing more to comment. Give them something to think about and make your topic as open as possible. Make them think of adding something useful and relevant to your post. However, do not sound obvious because they will most likely stop reading it. In short, do not act as if you know everything because the truth is you do not. Blogging is a form of communication, not a public speech.
Acknowledge them
Although there is a little chance that they will come back to see your reply, posting a reply is a good attitude. This means you are concern with their comments. It also reflects your character so be aware of doing so. If the reply sounds like music to the ears, other readers will also be attracted to do the same until such time that the comments are becoming like a thread. First time viewers would like to observe first before leaving a comment.
Do not drive them away
Some readers would like to leave a comment but you may be driving them away unintentionally. Avoid requiring them to register or answer a question before they can comment. Similarly, avoid using simple math problems as a key for them to post a comment because sometimes it reports an error even if your answer is correct. After all, you can always put your comment section in the moderation mode. Spammers cannot be avoided, but they can be controlled.
Commentators are valid customers, so put yourself in their shoes.

Hi Angel! I also don’t like the captcha questions. It is just plain bothersome.

I think that is good advice - I was using a registration service for awhile, but I got rid of it when I realized that I don’t like using them, myself (duh!). Nice information here, btw - I found your blog at just4families.
Cheers,
Roy
