Sex offenders are everywhere and most of the time, they are hard to recognize. Although there are sex maniacs who have manifestations on their looks, language and mannerisms; even the most decent man can be a rapist too. For the record, most sexual abusers are the ones the girl trusts like her father, grandfather, sibling and even close friends and classmates. Note that sexual abuse also includes sexually suggestive conversation, inappropriate kissing and malicious touching. In which case, you as a protective parent should have time to read and understand the tips below.
Have a watchful eye
You must know all the men your daughter is connect to, including your husband. When it comes to your daughter, trust no one. Do your best to accompany your daughter wherever she goes especially if she is still young and helpless. You must also know the kind of language she is learning from school. At home, it is better if you sleep beside her all night long. His father or any other male should not bathe her or even touch her sensitive parts anytime even if she is still a toddler.
Educate her
This includes teaching her how to sit properly, dress decently and act appropriately especially during the early age. Make her understand the bad effect of being sexually abused. If there are related news on television and newspapers, show them to her to prove how important it is to be safe all the time. If she goes to school alone, teach her other passable ways to avoid the same routine everyday. Avoid her to attend parties alone, even though the party holder is close to your family.
Build her personality
If your daughter has a strong personality, she can easily learn how to protect herself. Shy girls are more prone to sexual abuse since the predators think they are more helpless and will not complain. However, there are also attackers who love challenges in their prey but they are the ones you can easily be recognized. But still, personality can do a lot of things. Rapists are crazy people, not dumb. They spare no one.
Have consistent reminders
No matter what your daughter says, remind her like a tape recorder. Never give a chance to forget that rape excuses on one, and that even the not so attractive girls can be raped or sexually abused. You may not be always around to protect her and even if you are, sex offenders can always find evil ways to pursue their act. Your daughter should always be alert, wherever she will be, whatever time of the day. Rape victims have no age limit.
Evil comes in many faces and when you least expected.
