Domestic violence is around the world and unfortunately, not all battered wives have the courage to report their husbands to the police. Although there are brave ones who fought back and send their husbands to jail, it is more important to know if you will be a potential battered wife someday.

In this way, future wives can somehow prepare or better yet do something before anything worst happen. Here are some early signs that you should be aware of.

He is an alcoholic

A man who loves to drink too much and very frequently even by himself alone is considered an alcoholic person. This can affect his character towards anybody including you, as his wife. Time may come that he will hurt you if you try to stop him from drinking. The best advice is to consult him to a doctor immediately.

He is a drug dependent

This is even worst than being an alcoholic. Drugs can destroy his mind and he can be violent even when he is not high on it. A drug dependent tends to hurt anybody including himself. No matter how you try to stop him, you cannot do it alone. He should be stopped at once and be brought to a rehabilitation center.

He has low patience

If he easily gets mad over a simple mistake, then you must watch out. You can notice it how he reacts on mistakes of others. He loves winning unreasonably on debates and discussions, and most of the time he raises his voice over a simple issue.

He hates his mother

Be aware how he talks about his mother especially in front of her. Although they may not be in good terms, he should still be civil about it. If he cannot respect the woman who brought him into this world, he also cannot respect the woman he is married to.

He hurts innocent animals

If you see him hurt an innocent cat, or kick a dog that is going through his way, it means he can also hurt you someday. However, not wanting to have a pet is totally different from hating them. If he cannot be kind to animals, he cannot be kind to humans.

He can scare you

If you are always trembling when he is around, that means you are afraid of him. He may start by giving commands that are unreasonable like forcing you to have sex with him. If he starts to be abusing you with words, then it is also being a battered wife.

He loves violence

If he loves the works of Hitler and Osama Bin Laden, then he loves violence. If he agrees with offensive activities like war and racism, then he enjoys discrimination. Watching his principles and ideology can give you some hints on how he will be if you got married.

He is too possessive

Not allowing you to have friends or being too jealous are signs of abusive authority which can lead to domestic violence. It means he wants to control you and dictate your activities, and be the sole master inside the house.

The strength of a man can only be seen through his treatment over women.
