Patience is a virtue, my friend. This is a common saying to remind us that we should be patient in any goal that we want to reach. In blogging, patience is being tested daily while we are waiting for someone to drop by and leave a good comment. Promoting a blog does not necessarily mean it can always be effective and worst, earning good money out of blogging. So what am I driving at? Here is a classic sample of having a long patience and the great reward I got by having such.
Last May this year which means four months ago, I joined a contest and the exciting part is winners can choose the prize they want to win. There were reasonable cash prizes, tutorials and an interview. I choose the interview because I thought it would be a great way to let others to know more about me through a post on other’s blog. To make the long story short, I won and I was very happy to accept the prize. But my patience was tested.
Unfortunately, the blogger who was supposed to do the interview informed me that she has many projects in line so the interview may be delayed for a time she cannot specify. The blogger, however was kind enough to apologize every now and then and remind me that she is not forgetting me.
Then behold! Last month, she sent me some questions about myself, principles in life and other related things. I immediately replied to her questions hoping that it would be posted soon. But after a week, here comes another set of questions and I must admit that I was quite annoyed. My patience is really being tested. I thought the first set was enough.
But being so humble that she is, I answered again and even shared a part of my life story that I do not usually share. She send me the draft and after some changes, it was finalized. But since she feels that it is long for a single post, it will be a two-part series post.
Alas! The first part was posted two days ago and I was stunned with the numerous and wonderful comments especially from bloggers I really do not know. The aura of the post was very far more creative from what I saw in the draft.
Anyway, to give you some ideas about its content; it is about my hardships when I was a child being a product of a broken family and a struggling fighter against severe poverty. I decided to reveal them hoping to inspire others somehow.
This of course would not be possible without the effort of Alexys of Soul Meets World, as she kept her promise although she can run away if she wants to. All I say is…Hats off to you!
Looking back, I realized that there are still tests that I should go through and I am glad that I passed again. This is to be a patient person, to be a very patient person.
With this, here is the post - Angel Cuala: Humane Blogger At Large. I am inviting you to read it and please feel free to leave your honest comments.
This post was edit last Sept 17, 2008 7pm to add this.
The second part of the interview has been published - Angel Cuala: Blogging Family Style. It reveals a very strange part of my life story on how I was able to cope with all the challenges, and how I met my mother after 19 years since birth.
Patience pays off, only if we are patient enough.

I just visited the ‘Soul Meets World’ site and must say that the interview was beautifully done. In fact, it’s so great, you should put it in your ‘About’ page or something.
I can’t wait for Part 2.
It’s very touching although it’s so revealing. Despite all the hard knocks you faced in life, it’s great that you still managed to do well in life
