Charice Pempengco: A Great Inspiration to Discouraged Bloggers

Charice Pempengco, you probably heard her name as she is now the latest singing sensation. I bet most of you even watched her at You Tube in her finest performances, and admire her powerful voice as she sings at Oprah and her recent duet with Celine Dion.

I am a Filipino; and it really feels great when a young girl with a great talent from your country is bringing honor and pride. She has gained a lot of followers around the world and is now gaining high respect from top caliber artists and singers. She is now inspiring a lot of aspiring singers and discouraged bloggers. Yes, even discouraged bloggers and here’s how.

It is alright to be the underdog

No offense to her followers and relatives, as I am one of her fans too. But I think Charice is quite short for her age and does not have the looks of a superstar when she was starting. She may be the underdog but viewers love her the way she is. The same goes with readers as they go for bloggers with life story that is Cinderella-like. This is because readers love to be inspired with such kind of stories. So if you have one, don’t be ashamed to share it on your About Me page. After all, transparency is one of the things readers want from us.

Keep the faith

In case you don’t know, she lost as the final champion in a major talent search here in the Philippines before she was discovered at You Tube and followed by millions. Just like singing, blogging has many painful times too, especially when you think that you submit good posts but still not being voted in top social sites like Digg and Stumble Upon. But don’t blame yourself or fellow bloggers for not voting for you. Instead, continue improving your craft and do not loose confident if you feel you have the talent.

Always wear a smile

Charice never fails to smile, but admits she’s very nervous while singing in front of her audience. Although readers do not see us, they can feel that we are feeling low through our posts. Your blog may not yet be receiving tons of traffic but it does not mean you are not a good blogger. You must control your emotions about the status of your blog. Of course, you can request your readers to come back but do not beg for it. Instead, give your best shot in every post you make. Work hard to gain traffic and do it with a happy face.

Do not be afraid to expose your self

Having a few readers on your blog can be a great discouragement, but have you asked your self a good question? Are you exposing your self? Do you join forums where you can socialize with other bloggers? Are you leaving useful comments on other blogs? How much time do you spend promoting your blog? Or are you contented with making good posts and letting luck find you? In case you are not aware, Charice Pempengco’s full international stardom started when an avid follower posted her early performances at You Tube and as the saying goes, the rest is history.

Stars are shiny and are being look up to, but they are only small in our eyes.

I think we need to be careful not to measure our success by the standards of power and money. Success begins with this question: Are you doing something that makes you feel like you are spot on with what you are meant to do? If that answer is yes, you are already on your way …success is subjective, and it is yours.

Charice Pempengco is indeed on the road to greater success in her singing career. She may turn out to be a bigger star than Lea Salonga if ever she can cut her own recordings and handled well by a professional and well connected manager. I pray that she succeeds more and bring great honor to the Filipino nation. Thanks for the post,. God bless you always.

Many bloggers easily get discouraged in their first 3 to 6 months of blogging. To some it becomes boring, monotonous, and a waste of time. This is true especially when your blogging goal is wrong - when one thinks he can earn money and be popular and can have lots of visitors reading and commenting his blog easily.

I believe in setting simpler smaller goals in everything I do. Small victories do count a lot along the way. This is probably the reason why, up to now, whether I get one or 1000 visitors in any given day, I still celebrate and still having fun blogging. Earning money with blogging is not important - they are just purely passive income.

Mel - You’re right. I can consider Charice now belonging to status of Lea Salonga and that’s a great help to build honor to our country. GOD bless you too!

Bloggista - Actually, this is also the reason why I made this post. Not only to inspire others, but also to myself too. I agree, some bloggers are impatient not really understanding what blogging is all about.
