Blogging Tip: Let me Write your Name in Arabic

My name is Angel and here is how I write it in English, A-n-g-e-l. It is very simple, isn’t it? But how about writing it in Arabic? Well, you can see it on the image shown on the left side of this post. But since I do not know Arabic, how in the world did I learn it?

Before I answer this question, I would like to share to you what I learned recently on how to increase visitors to your blog, convince them to come back and even make them invite others to visit it too.

Write about general chat

If you are active on forums like me, you may be browsing the General Chat sub-forum. You may not be visiting it since you think most of the posts are useless, and you are right. You might think it is just a waste of time reading them, but not really. In fact, majority of them have longer threads than those who are talking about SEO and blogging. This is also much possible in a blog post, as long as you tickle their minds and you do not do it in expense of others. You can be funny without being offensive.

Look smart, not intelligent

It is good to be intelligent, but it looks better to be smart. Most readers prefer reading posts made by smart people than the intellectual ones, because they can easily understand its meaning. Smart bloggers find ways to share information in a more attractive approach, while intelligent bloggers tend to tell their readers that they are bright and seem to know everything. By being smart, you are allowing your readers to interact with you instead of just letting them read a post. Blogging is a form of communication, not publishing a book.

Prioritize your commentators

Checking my mails is the first thing I do before I blog, and reading the comments is my priority. Assuming that they are legitimate, commentators are the ones who spend time to read and react on our post. In short, they are our valuable customers and we should welcome them immediately. Although we do not need to reply to all of them, it will be their pleasure if they saw that they have been approved at once. Reserve answers for their possible questions, and assume that they will come back at once or will subscribe to comments.

Be humble when you’re late

You may not be always around due to other important activities or emergencies, and questions from your readers may already be overflowing. This can add pressure to your task, but don’t forget to be humble. Telling them how sorry you are for being late is a good trait that we should always practice. This will be a great relief for them when they know that you value their effort. Humility adds a lot if you want to build a good image, and having a good image is a great way to attract more readers.

Now, where did I learn how to write my name in Arabic? Well, I visited the General Chat sub-forum of Sitepoint wherein the thread title is Let me write your name in Arabic. Don’t underestimate this thread because this was started more than 2 years ago, and still growing strong.

Okay, so what I love about this post is that you choose something randomly, unrelated to the meat of your post, reel me in, teach me about being a better blogger, and then return back to the way you caught my attention in the first place. I love this! And the content is great as well. Of course, this would speak to me since one of my mantras is: randomness is my specialty. Thanks for a great post.
