My First Blogging Event: An Unforgettable Experience
Photo Angel Cuala and Janette Toral
Last October 25, I attended a blogging event – DigitalFilipino.com Club and Bloggers Manila Networking Event at the Casino Filipino, ParaƱaque City, Philippines. This event was sponsored by PAGCOR, and upon the invitation of Janette Toral of Blogging from Home. As I have mentioned in my invitation post on my other blog, this free event was organized by DigitalFilipino.com Club.
Although the venue was around 68 kilometers from our place, and the event was scheduled until 11pm, I did not hesitate to come. It was a great honor to meet fellow Filipino bloggers for the first time, especially those who became my virtual friends. I also had a chance to see Filipino bloggers who are doing well in this industry, and bloggers from different fields.
I hope nobody noticed that I am very nervous when the event started, but my self-confidence increased as the event is going on. Although I was able to speak in front in many people and even strangers before, the ambiance was very different this time. But after the event, I felt I became a more sociable blogger.
As I was listening to the speech of some of the top bloggers, I discovered that they have no secrets behind their success. SEO, social sites, and quality content were among the most mentioned as common techniques. Different bloggers have different strategies, but finding the most applicable strategy is the best strategy.
The event also increased my network, and opened a window for more opportunities as a professional blogger.
Below are some photos of Yours Truly along with some bloggers, and a list of wonderful posts of the bloggers who came.
(with Snow)
(with my partner, Mon – Fatherlyours and Pusang Maganda)
(with Annalyn Jusay)
(with a bunch of bloggers)
(with one of the top bloggers Fitz)
(with my latest partner Bloggista)
I also met a few bloggers whom I had a small but sensible talks. Unfortunately, I did not had a chance to have a photo with them but I would like to mention them here.
Reyns of Reyna Elena
Chris A. of Life on a Pencil
AJ Matela of Bakla Ako, May Reklamo?
Sonny of Sonny’s Porch
Dine (The Sexy Mom) Racoma of The D Spot
Tonyo of TonyoCruz dot Com
Gary Viray of Gary Viray dot Com
Errol of Errol Chua dot Com
Ederic of Ederic@cyperspace

If you want to see the overall details of the event, and check out all the posts of all who joined, please feel free to visit Janette Toral’s special post.
With this, I would like to end this post by thanking all of them that made this event unforgettable.

Mukha nga na masaya at ka-enjoy iyang event na dinaluhan mo. At, mukhang mapagkaibigan ang mga dumalo at samahan diyan.
Natagpuan ko itong blog mo via Manilenya, who is, if may say so, my blog pal, kahit na madalang na akong mag-post sa blog ko.
Sige, hanggan sa susunod.
Sab – Sorry din kung di kita na-approach. Actually, nahihiya rin ako kasi first time ko din maka-attend ng event. Hope to meet you some other time.
Mang Kulas – Actually, all of them are friendly and accommodating. Anyway, Manilenya is one of my closest virtual friends. We chat a few times through Skype and she even helped me when I was just starting with WP. If you will notice, I put a link to her blog in my sidebar as one of my My Lifetime Friends.
Sayang naman ang blog mo, I checked it and it is already 2 years old.
What a great experience for you. I hope to be able to meet you and others like you who I follow some day. I’ll bet it really personalized your virtual relationships and gave you a different connection.

Mon (FatherlYours) – I’m glad I am not using Bayantel, lol! Yes, we’ll keep that secret at maniwala ka nahihiya pa ako nung time na yun.

talaga, first time nyo umattend ng blogger event? ang saya naman.saw you that night but we never got around to chat but just the same, nice to meet you.
Looks like you had a very nice time, and I’m sure you learned a lot too. Hope to join you in the next event.
hi, fatherblogger! i saw you in this event but too shy to approach you. hehehe! good luck in your blogging career.
Manilenya – Yes, that’s true. I consider you as one of my lifetime friends online. Actually, I was hoping we can chat again one time not to learn more from you about these technical stuff but also about life, parenting, etc.
About my photo, well mabilis tumanda ang lolo mo sa kapupuyat at sa kakaisip kung ano ang isusulat….at kung pano yumaman. lol!
Janzeel – Sayang nga e. But I wish we still can on another event, who knows? Thanks for dropping by here.
Monaco – I really learned a lot, especially about the different personalities of Pinoy bloggers. I learned that in blogging, everybody is equal in terms of status and gender. Although I know that it is not just about making money online, I understand more how bloggers feel when they gather together. Hope to see you in the future event. You blog is everywhere, in case you don’t notice.
Nicely – I am really very sorry for not approaching you that evening. I am shy though, but extremely nervous. I have not been so nervous in my entire life…lol!
Thanks for reading my posts and for leaving such nice comments. It goes with the name, I guess.
