How to use Kaizen to Improve your Blog
Logo from Wikipedia
I have worked for different Japanese companies for over ten years and as I observed them, they are very workaholic. No wonder that they have a very stable career in terms of technology. One of their effective strategies in everything they do is Kaizen.
It is a Japanese term which means improvement, or continuous improvement. Although the whole process looks complicated, it is the PDCA cycle that makes it simple and it can also be applied to blogging. Here it goes.
Plan
This includes looking for different blog resources, preparing for your posts, and making a specific targeted traffic say an initial of 100 visitors a day. However, it is important to make your target attainable. Having an initial target of 1,000 visitors a day for the first month of blogging is almost impossible. In addition, the plan should also be in accordance with your capabilities and time. In short, make the plan systematic and feasible.
Do
This is basically the implementation of the plan you made. Perform each task accordingly and have a group effort if applicable. This includes socializing with other bloggers and on-line friends. However, be conscious about the time because this is very important. Even if you have a quality post, it can be useless if others will be ahead of you. Blogging is like a marathon, the first mouse gets the bigger cheese.
Check
Checking the effect of your work is definitely a must. This will tell you if your plan is successful or not. Knowing your statistics and analyzing them properly is a very good strategy. I use Google Analytics for tracking my traffic and as of this moment, 61.26% of my visitors are coming from referring sites. If you know where your traffic is weak, then you can make an in-depth study on how you can improve more. Furthermore, make a clear list for easy reference.
Act
This is the revision of your plan while reviewing the results of your previous actions. You will decide whether you will improve your previous strategy or find a new one. There are a lot of blogging strategies everywhere to choose from, and each of them is worth to try. However, you should learn from your previous mistakes. You can also increase your target this time. Although these four steps form a cycle, this must be a continual process and not a stagnant activity.
Success is ever final, failure is never fatal.

Hi Angel,
I had the pleasure of working at Toyota at one time and I must say that when I learned about Kaizen, it was very impressive. Not only did it make the employees work efficiently, but it made the product very reliable. Toyota has the lowest rate of recalls.
This is a fabulous post of the art and integrity of blogging. Thanks for your hard work.
All The Best.
