How to Keep your Child Safe in Carnivals

This Christmas, carnival is the favorite place of children. I am sure there are plenty of them offering different kinds of entertainment, especially for young children. Parents are also excited to bring their kids to these carnivals, and enjoy some rides with them. For sure, there are also a lot of children shows to be watched.

However, parents should also be aware about the danger that can happen anytime. I do not want to spoil your enjoyment, but I think it is still best to be reminded again.

Carnivals are crowded especially this Christmas season. If your kids are too excited, they might get lost when they let go of your hand. That’s why you should teach them how to handle such situation. You can tell him a particular place where you can meet in case he got lost.

If your kid cannot identify himself well yet, have a piece of paper in his pocket where his name and your contact information are readily available. Furthermore, you should know the nearest information table where you can inform the people at once about your problem.

Children rides are exciting, and it is fun to watch your child enjoying them. However, accidents can happen anytime which is why parents should be very keen in observing safety. Be sure that your kid is wearing the safety gadgets, and be attentive to his call. If there are older children in the rides, my advice is you to join him. Although there may be first aides around, I still suggest that you bring your own safety kit. Lastly, do not allow your child to ride if he is full.

Circus is a show where animals like the elephant is the center of attraction, and children love to watch them closely. While they can serve as wonderful experience to your child, animals can also be dangerous. Although the trainer seems to be controlling them, these animals still have their own instincts and a small mistake by your child can cause a big danger to him. With this, require your child not be too close to them.

Finally, carnivals are safe in general. However, it is still our duty as parents to add safety precautions instead of blaming yourself or others later.

  • Hi Angel,
These are good tips. People become so distracted at carnivals and amusement parks that it is easy for kids to get lost and confused. I remember going to amusement parks as a child and seeing how many kids were lost because their parents stood in line to get food or just didn’t pay attention.

Keep the kids safe and near by.
