Father keeps Faith after losing his Family in Jet Crash
“Please pray for him not to suffer from this accident.”
This was the humble statement of Dong Yun Yoon for the pilot who accidentally crashed his F/A-18D jet on Yoon’s house at San Diego, California last December 8, 2008. Unfortunately, the accident caused Yoon’s family to die while they were inside the burning house.
The family includes Yoon’s wife, two daughters (Grace, 15 months old; and Rachel who is less than 2 months old), and his 60-year old mother in-law.
The family just moved in to the neighborhood less than 2 months ago. Yoon however, is a Korean migrate since 1989, as told to reporters by Daniel Shin, Yoon’s minister.
Witnesses say they saw the jet flying on a low altitude and turning around just like in the movie Top Gun.
The pilot whose name was not identified is the lone passenger of the jet, managed to eject himself just moments before the plane crashed to Yoon’s house. He landed on a tree, survived, and was rushed to the hospital. But then, he was completely worried that he may have hurt someone.
“I don’t blame him. I don’t have any hard feelings. I know he did everything he could,” said Yoon, flanked by members of San Diego’s Korean community, relatives and members from the family’s church.
In spite of the deep sorrow, the distraught father forgives the pilot and believes that the latter did his best to avoid the accident. But still, he is asking for emotional support.
To know the complete details with photos and video, you can view them here at CNN News.
“I know there are many people who have experienced more terrible things,” Yoon said. “But, please, tell me how to do it. I don’t know what to do.”
Love your family while they’re here; love others while you are still alive.

Cheers and happy blogging.
BTW, I like your theme. What template are you using? Thanks and good luck to all of your undertakings.
All the best,
Hi Jenaisle,
I just visit your post about my life story that I submitted to you. Thanks for the final editing and hopefully, it can inspire others. Apparently, the site where I also submitted my story for a chance to win $$$ is temporarily down. This means that I can still re-submit if they will be up again.
For the meantime, I provided a link to it my sidebar – Blog Posts about me: An Angel In Each Of Us.
By the way, here is the site where I got my theme. They are free, but they are for Wordpress blog only – http://www.wpthemespress.com/
Nakakalungkot at nakakapanghina naman yung nangyari. May his family rest in peace. Honestly, hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko sa situation na katulad ng ganyan if ever.
This nearly brought me to tears when I heard that interview. One of the greatest testimonies for Christ in modern times. If only all those of us who profess Christ as our King and Lord were so convicted.
Hi Angel,
Thanks for those additional quotes about Mr. Yoon. My heart goes out to him and putting his life back together.
He showed such a grace in his initial interview with the press. I will follow the link for more info and give him my prayers.
Thanks.
Hi Angel,
A typo in the story.
You have
“The pilot whose name was not identified is the lone passenger of the jet, managed to (inject) himself…”
It should be (eject.) What a difference a letter makes. Inject means a different thing.
I am giving you an award for having a great attitude on your blog. You can pick it up at http://karenzemek.blogspot.com/2008/12/thanks-for-lemonade-award-for-having.html
This post is a good example of the quality you have.
That was sad but I commend the accepting ability of the father. Take care!
I read your life story Sir Angel on jena isle blog and it is very inspiring. Take care!
Snow – I think nobody can say that he is prepared to be in situations like this. But I know that faith helps a lot.

So sad… I’m out of words to say…
Losing a family is probably one of the toughest challenge your life can ever face. I admire the humility of this guy despite this horrible incident that led to his family’s death. Hope to see him in heaven.
