Online Money Seekers: Beware of Work at Home Job Scams

We all know how hard is to make money today, as the economy worldwide seems to continue on declining. While there are some companies that were forced to close, some are trying to save it by reducing manpower. But since it is very difficult to find another job, online money seekers are now increasing rapidly. Unfortunately, they don’t realize that there are a lot of fake or work-at-home job scams around.

Recently, a post was published at MSNBC on how not be fooled by work-at-home job scams. According to the report, a certain Cindy Dalton of RebateProcessorJobs.com is promising her clients that she will teach them how to make money from processing rebate jobs. And who will not be attracted if someone tells you that you can make $500+ a day? Well, it does not attract me for one.

Anyway, the rule of the system seems to be simple. You can make money by placing different product ads, but you will have to invest money first. Then, you will be provided with a free software that will help you. But so far, a lot of complainants are claiming that they are not making money. They want their money back, but none of them got it. One of them is Wesley Bailey who said he spent $37.

Furthermore, another name was mentioned and she is Angel Stevens. She is from ProcessAtHome.com who claims to be the number one work-at-home consultant in America. According to one of her confessed victim named Nancy Wilkerson, Angel told her she can make “up to $225 a day or more for just 60 minutes of working at home.” Nancy said she can’t believe she was able to spend $197, and have not yet got her money back.

After I Google the sites – RebateProcessorJobs.com and ProcessAt Home.com, as well as the names of Cindy Dalton and Angel Stevens, I saw tons of posts complaining and claiming that they were victims of work-at-home scams. As of this posting, both sites were marked F by the Better Business Bureau by failing to respond to complaints and using “grossly misleading” advertising which you can see here and here.

For now, the site of RebateProcessorJobs.com is still Live with Cindy Dalton’s signature on it. On the other hand, Process At Home.com has an open letter stating that a lot of copycats ruined their brand. The last paragraph stated that “we will no longer be accepting new members and will just continue servicing our current members for the complete duration of their membership.”

For the record, I am NOT saying that both sites and persons are scam as I only depend on what I read. However, I will be watching them until a formal news will say whether they are guilty or not.

Furthermore, I am not saying that all work-at-home jobs are scam. But still, here are few important reminders that you can use before joining any of them.

*Beware if it offers a very high income in exchange of a few hours of work, especially if it does not require any kind of working or selling experience.

*Beware if it requires you to invest money. Don’t rely on the money-back guarantee even if it says it is 100% money-back.

*Beware if there are testimonials that are too good to be true. Anyone can invent an identity or someone can easily be paid to tell a lie.

*Beware if they are asking for your credit card, debit card, or checking account. Note that no legitimate employer is allowed to get money from their applicants.

*Beware if you cannot find any information about them online except their site. Always get affirmation of their authenticity from proper authorities. If you are in the US, you can use Better Business Bureau to confirm them.
