Why Parents should say Sorry to their Children
Last time, my daughter left a comment on my post while doing her homework in a Internet Cafe. However, I told her it would not be possible since she used a different username. But when I checked it the next day, it was valid and I gladly approved it. When I fetched her from school, I apologized to her and her classmate was surprised as if her parents never said sorry to her.
Committing mistakes is common to human, and being a parent is not an excuse. But unfortunately, some parents don’t say sorry to their children. I don’t know their reasons for not doing so, but I still respect them. Maybe they think that they are superior, or because of pride, or maybe they are not used to it since childhood. However, I think it’s about time that they understand the reasons why they should and here are some of them. Read the rest of this entry »
How to Deny your Childs Request
It’s been almost 2 weeks since I started selling toy balloons in front of Jollibee Lipa Bayan, and I am not ashamed to admit it. Although of course, I am hopeful that I still can find a better source of income. But for now, I am enjoying what I do especially when I see the sweet smiles of the children after their parents buy them.
However, I am sadden with the negative reactions of some fellow parents. It’s not that they did not buy, but it’s how they deny their child’s request. Unfortunately, we are sometimes not conscious with our attitude and don’t realize that it will have a great effect on our children. Here they are and I hope you’re not one of them. Father Blogger on You Tube: How to be an Influential Blogger
First of all, I would like to say thank you to Ms. Janette Toral for uploading this video and to Roy of The Struggling Blogger for sharing the link to me. Anyway, this video is my speech last Saturday when my blog Father Blogger dot Com was chosen as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009.
The first part contains all the gratitude to those who helped me when my wife and daughter had Dengue fever. The second part explained my history in blogging, how I started, and all the hardships it encountered. This includes the extended support of my fellow Filipino bloggers to renew its domain and hosting service.
However, I think the best part is blogging tips that I shared. They are the ones I tried and proven effective, and I hope you can get something from them. Read the rest of this entry »
Father Blogger dot Com: One of Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009
As much as I want to be humble, I cannot help myself to be proud as Father Blogger dot com was chosen as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009 which was organized by Ms. Janet Toral last Saturday. The event was held at PAGCOR, Paranaque City, Philippines.
The dinner was wonderful and the ambiance was energetic. I met the older ones, and fresh faces as well. Although I was quite sad, since my partner Mon was not around as well as Jenaisle. Anyway, each of us was awarded with a plaque and a 5-minute speech opportunity. Read the rest of this entry »
Cory Aquino: Thank you and Farewell Madam President
Maria Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco Aquino (January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009)
Please allow me to reserve this post to join the whole Filipino nation and fellow countrymen in grief, as the former Philippine president Cory Aquino passed away this morning due to cardio-respiratory arrest at exactly 3:18 a.m. at the Makati Medical Center according to news report from GMA 7 and ABS CBN Channel 2.
Although this is a very sad news, I will take this opportunity to share my experience as a Filipino who lived under her legacy. She may not be the best president to some, but it cannot be denied that her time was a remarkable one considering that she had a great influence to a peaceful and bloodless revolution which was called the EDSA 1 People Power .
