Two weeks from now and it’s Halloween once again. Each year, folks from most parts of the world will be celebrating this holiday in different ways and this includes children enjoying the trick-or-treat. Nevertheless, adults and parents have their own style of celebrating Halloween.

But then, it is also interesting to understand the History of Halloween. To begin with, this tradition started around 2,000 years ago by the Celts in which the place is now Ireland, United Kingdom, and northern France wherein they celebrated their new year on November 1.

On the night before, they celebrate Samhain (pronounced sow-in) which they believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. During the celebration, they wore different costumes such as animal skins and heads. This tradition was well accepted by people in most countries and the celebration of Halloween is getting more interesting to join.

Today, different costumes were invented and card costumes are one of them. Basically, it is like a real Bingo card that can fit to any adult and being worn in front of the chest. The costume is made of polyester which is laminated into a foam. Nevertheless, common costumes include TV and movie characters for adult and the timeless Michael Jackson Thriller is among them.

But of course, children have their own crazy costumes too. This includes the recent Hannah Montana craze and the ever charming Harry Potter. Not to mention their favorite superheroes like Spiderman, Batman, and Superman. My 8-year old son has the Spiderman costume and I enjoy watching him as he feels like the real super hero.

To me, Halloween is not only a tradition but also a time to bond with our friends and family. For parents, it is a very good occasion to let their children enjoy along with them.
