The Teens Speech: Hear the Voices of Teenagers from UK this Christmas day

Two days ago, I received an email from a certain Dylan Close of The Teens Speech. According to the email, they are doing a special project with UK children’s charity Barnardo’s.

At 3:10pm on Christmas Day, Britain teenagers are going to deliver its own message to the nation. Thirteen to nineteen year old individuals will be spanning all backgrounds and classes and will give the adult population a frank, surprising perspective on the state of things in Britain.

They have been filming since early November and have received dozens of webcam contributions on YouTube, in which the the final film will air on the front page of MySpace on Christmas Day 2009.

When I visited their site, I watched a couple of videos and below is one of them.

By the way, you can also check them at Myspace and Facebook.

Although I am not from UK, I love people who are very much willing to help children especially letting teenagers hear their voices for a good cause. Apparently, parents here in the Philippines have great concern for children and they will sacrifice everything for their welfare.

As a father of a 13-year old girl, hearing the teens of Britain will help me understand her more. I just hope that fellow parents will also find time to hear them.

So Dylan, good luck to your project!
