Should I Create a Website or a Blog?
A former classmate of mine recently searched my name at Google and learned that I am into blogging. We had a few chats reminiscing our good old college days.
Later, he invited me to visit his photos on a top social networking site. He was hoping that I have one too, but I said I prefer blogging. He said he thought of making one but he still thinking twice. Then, he asked me, should I create a website or a blog? Welcome to Part Three and the final chapter on how to promote a blog for beginners post series, and I think this is the most important part. But before we proceed, let me give you a recap on the previous parts.
In Part One, I discussed a bit about the principles of SEO, submitting articles to article directories, and some ways on how to start meeting fellow fellow bloggers. How to Promote a Blog for Beginners: Part One
After more than 2 years of blogging, I can say that I am still far from being an expert. However, I think I can already share some of my knowledge and experience on how to promote a blog especially for beginners. This is also with the help of the blogs I read as well as from the Darren Rowse’ Problogger Book which I won from a contest.
But I must remind you that promoting a blog effectively does not necessary mean that you will make good money, not unless you treat your blog as a business. Nevertheless, most high traffic blogs are making good money from advertisers and Google Adsense.

Father Blogger on You Tube: How to be an Influential Blogger
First of all, I would like to say thank you to Ms. Janette Toral for uploading this video and to Roy of The Struggling Blogger for sharing the link to me. Anyway, this video is my speech last Saturday when my blog Father Blogger dot Com was chosen as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009.
The first part contains all the gratitude to those who helped me when my wife and daughter had Dengue fever. The second part explained my history in blogging, how I started, and all the hardships it encountered. This includes the extended support of my fellow Filipino bloggers to renew its domain and hosting service.

Father Blogger dot Com: One of Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009
As much as I want to be humble, I cannot help myself to be proud as Father Blogger dot com was chosen as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009 which was organized by Ms. Janet Toral last Saturday. The event was held at PAGCOR, Paranaque City, Philippines.
The dinner was wonderful and the ambiance was energetic. I met the older ones, and fresh faces as well. Although I was quite sad, since my partner Mon was not around as well as Jenaisle. Anyway, each of us was awarded with a plaque and a 5-minute speech opportunity. Read the rest of this entry »
I Now Own a Problogger Book
Yes, my dear readers. I now own a Problogger Book, and it is such a great honor to have one. Late last year, I proudly announced that I won a Problogger Book by sharing the Best Blogging Tip. It was from a contest at Kevin Muldoon’s forum. Kevin is the humble owner of Blogging Tips, who was kind enough to allow me to guest post on his blog for four times. Since then, my confidence in sharing blogging tips increased.
By the way, the judge was no less than the Problogger himself, Darren Rowse. It was such a privileged for me to be chosen. Actually, I already got the book some few months ago, but it is unfortunate that I have no time to read it thoroughly.
