For most men, to be a father someday is among their biggest dreams. But when that time comes, they become lost and do not know how to handle tough situations. Unfortunately, a lot of children grow up hating their father and lost their way too.
On the other hand, some children still grow up responsible even if they feel that their father is only a sperm donor. But somehow, there is bitterness inside them and they wish their father had been there when they need him the most.
So while we celebrate Father’s Day this year, here are some of my ideas on how to be a good father. Read the rest of this entry »
How to Love your Mother
The world is now celebrating Mother’s Day and most of us are preparing the best gifts for their mothers. I was already 26 years old when I first saw my mother, and I have not seen her since 2007. We are continents apart and I do not know when I will be able to see her again.
However, it does not mean that I do not have thoughts on how to love your mother. In fact, I think that I have more ideas than those who grew up and still living with their mothers. This is because I believe that to love a mother is more than just giving her gifts on her special day.
Although I assume that you already know all of them, I hope that I can make you realize how important they are before it will be too late. Read the rest of this entry »

What if there is a Gay in the Family?
Yesterday, I saw on national TV that Rustom Padilla has finally changed his name to Bebe (not sure if I wrote it correctly). If you don’t know him, he is a good actor and was formerly married to a good actress but eventually discovered and admitted to everyone that he is a gay. I am not really fond of Showbiz scoops and intrigues, but I love reality and this post is not about Bebe. This is about having a gay in the family.
We all know that gays are now getting a lot of exposure, and the Filipinos are now starting to give them a wider space. So, what’s the point? Are we getting worst? Are the parents of today neglecting their children or just more open to reality? These are only some of the questions that the answers will depend on how you see things. Read the rest of this entry »
Christmas: Family and Fatherhood
Christmas is being celebrated today by Christians and families worldwide. According to the Bible, Mary had no other place to give birth, after Joseph cannot find an inn to stay for his family.
