Making Money from Adsense: Gain or Pain?
Obviously, I have Adsense on my blog. I started this blog four months ago, but I have 2 other blogs at Blogger that also have Adsense, and are more than one year old. However, I now seldom touch them since I am more focused on this blog.
But here’s the great news – I am now about to reach my first $100 from Adsense after more than 1 year of using it! Am I happy? Of course, I am. I worked for it somehow. But what am I driving at? Well, I think now is the right time for me to share my ideas about Adsense. So I hope you join me here, and let’s talk about it professionally.
Making good money from Adsense
It is given that a high-traffic blog has the greater chance of making good money from Adsense. Targeting the most searched keywords, and make series of posts about it is a very effective way. Adsense bloggers earned a lot from the recent US President election, and will earn again if they are blogging about the upcoming Pacquiao – De la Hoya fight. Therefore, I can conclude that niche bloggers are more likely not to make good money from Adsense consistently. Read the rest of this entry »
The Happy Birthday that never was – A PPBC 9th Edition entry
Recently, I was invited again by Doc Joey of Tsinay to join Pinoy Parenting Blog Carnival which is now on the 9th edition. This time, it is about birthdays. Although I can make a happy post about the past birthdays of my children, I decided to make it different in honor of my late father, Mr. Renato Cuala. Let me give you some ideas on what kind of person he is.
He was already legally separated to my mother, and living with my stepmother when I live with him. It is not a secret that I start to earn a living at the age of 10. This is because my father was a simple laborer, and his earnings were not really sufficient for us. My stepmother sells some food stuff but still, it was not enough.
My father is not an intelligent man, he is a genius! He was once a university scholar taking up Chemical Engineering, although he stopped on his fourth year. He is very proficient in English, brilliant in math, a good political analyst in his own right, a very wide reader and can play chess blind folded. He is also a frustrated writer, and a great poet. A Part-time Blogger no more
Yes, the title you just read is correct. I am not a part-time blogger anymore simply because I will be blogging for full time, and I do not know until when. Although it is my dream to become one, I did not expect to be this early. This is maybe quite personal but what else should I hide as I already exposed more than a half of my life story to my readers.
Three weeks ago, my former employer announced that the company is losing a lot, and one good resort to reduce its expenses is to offer Early Retirement package. My wife and I talked about it until we agreed that I will accept the offer, since it is quite higher than the usual. I am not in the position to say if the company will finally close or not, but I think accepting the offer is the best choice so far.
By the way, yesterday was my last day after serving the company for almost seven years. I know this is very risky because I now have no regular source of income plus the fact that the price of almost everything is getting higher. Read the rest of this entry »
A Good Effect of being a Patient Blogger
Patience is a virtue, my friend. This is a common saying to remind us that we should be patient in any goal that we want to reach. In blogging, patience is being tested daily while we are waiting for someone to drop by and leave a good comment. Promoting a blog does not necessarily mean it can always be effective and worst, earning good money out of blogging. So what am I driving at? Here is a classic sample of having a long patience and the great reward I got by having such.
Last May this year which means four months ago, I joined a contest and the exciting part is winners can choose the prize they want to win. There were reasonable cash prizes, tutorials and an interview. I choose the interview because I thought it would be a great way to let others to know more about me through a post on other’s blog. To make the long story short, I won and I was very happy to accept the prize. But my patience was tested. Read the rest of this entry »
The Tiger with a Smiling Face – a PPBC 7th edition Entry
I would like to reserve this post as an entry to the Pinoy Parenting Blog Carnival 7th edition hosted by The Working Mom with the theme – How do you discipline your kids?
From the title itself, it will tell you how strict I am especially to my daughter. I must admit, I hit her a few times when I think she deserves one. This is the best reminder that I think so she won’t repeat the same mistakes again. I am not going to justify my action but I just want to elaborate further.
There are three major wrongdoings that I do not want my daughter to commit – negligence especially when it comes to her studies and to her brother, complete disrespect and discriminating others. But this occurred only when she was 7 to 11 years old. The last time was Christmas day of last year and I was not able to control myself then. Read the rest of this entry »
The Kind of Father that I am
I would like to reserve this post as my entry to Pinoy Parenting Blog Carnival 6th edition hosted by Guardian Angel (which happens to be Yours Truly) of Happy Family Matters, in which the subject is the enchanting question – What Type of Parent are you?
I have two children, a girl at 12 and a boy at 7. Since I got married at 30, you can see that there may be a wide generation gap that I am trying to solve. Actually, being a jolly father and a street smart that I am makes it easier to communicate with them. I grew up in the wild streets in Manila, Philippines’ capital city that is why I always have a story to share to my daughter. Old songs, movies and even social events are the best topics we are sharing when we are together and as if there is no more tomorrow. I am very open to any kind of question.
