How to Vote Wisely this coming Philippine Automated Election 2010
I would like to reserve this post to make a call to all my fellow Filipino countrymen. The Philippine Automated Election 2010 is fast approaching, and yesterday was the start for the candidates to file their Certificate of Candidacy (COC). Unfortunately, the nuisance candidates were the first ones who went to COMELEC. But of course, we have already seen infomercials of some presidential candidates and it is pretty obvious that they are already campaigning.
I have been a registered voter since the Marcos regime and I have been voting in all the past elections. As a Filipino, I believe that we should be aware about the latest Election 2010 update. But more importantly, we should know how to vote wisely. With this, I know I have learned enough about the dirt in politics and how it differs from political will. Here are some of my personal opinions. Read the rest of this entry »
Father Blogger dot Com: One of Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009
As much as I want to be humble, I cannot help myself to be proud as Father Blogger dot com was chosen as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009 which was organized by Ms. Janet Toral last Saturday. The event was held at PAGCOR, Paranaque City, Philippines.
The dinner was wonderful and the ambiance was energetic. I met the older ones, and fresh faces as well. Although I was quite sad, since my partner Mon was not around as well as Jenaisle. Anyway, each of us was awarded with a plaque and a 5-minute speech opportunity. Read the rest of this entry »
A Salute to all Filipino Bloggers

Philippines may be a third-world country, with a lot of natives going abroad to seek for a greener pasture and where corruption is a common topic in every table. But Filipinos are born with great talents and they can shine anywhere, given the chance.
I do not need to mention the names of Manny Pacquiao and Charice Pempengco, who are now doing very well in their respective fields. But these two are just among the millions of great Filipinos who are doing their best for their country and families.
Filipinos are also known to be sociable and hospitable, and blogging is another field where we can prove that we are. In case some of you are not aware, John Chow is very thankful to the 13-year old Kid Blogger Carl Ocab for saving him through a guest post. But this is not just about him; this post is a salute to all the Filipino bloggers in every corner of the world. Read the rest of this entry »
My First Blogging Event: An Unforgettable Experience
Photo Angel Cuala and Janette Toral
Last October 25, I attended a blogging event – DigitalFilipino.com Club and Bloggers Manila Networking Event at the Casino Filipino, ParaƱaque City, Philippines. This event was sponsored by PAGCOR, and upon the invitation of Janette Toral of Blogging from Home. As I have mentioned in my invitation post on my other blog, this free event was organized by DigitalFilipino.com Club.
Although the venue was around 68 kilometers from our place, and the event was scheduled until 11pm, I did not hesitate to come. It was a great honor to meet fellow Filipino bloggers for the first time, especially those who became my virtual friends. I also had a chance to see Filipino bloggers who are doing well in this industry, and bloggers from different fields. Read the rest of this entry »
