Christmas season is just two months away, and some people are already starting their holiday shopping especially here in the Philippines. However, there are those who are in financial trouble due to the current economic crisis. But then, we can also save money for the coming holidays. Being a smart spender will be very helpful.
As a parent, we always want the best for our children. Although it’s hard to earn money these days, I know we can still afford to buy cheap presents without compromising the happiness of our kids. While it may be true that expensive gifts have a higher quality, there are cases where you can have the same quality for a cheaper price. All we have to do is to be resourceful enough. After 26 long years, I never imagine myself going back to my very first job. Sad to say, I am a street vendor again. Who would think that I finished a degree in Engineering, passed the board exam, and worked for different companies for 16 years? It is just unfortunate that I am still having a hard to find a job, considering that I started searching 7 months ago. Well, I think the nearest answer is that employers prefer younger applicants plus the fact that it is really difficult to find a job these days.
I am now selling toys balloons in the busy streets of Tanauan and Lipa City, Batangas, and I do not consider myself now as a good provider. As a father, it worries me more than it hurts my pride. I don’t have anything against street vendors, but I wish I can find a better source of income. Anyway, I know there are other fathers like me and maybe even worst. Unfortunately, I am seeing negative attitudes by some of them. Well, this post is for them and hope they will find this useful. Read more of this >>

The post title seems to be over-exaggerated, and yes it is. Actually, I only waited 6 months but I know that’s still very long. I am even thinking of submitting myself to Guinness Book of World Records lol! Anyway, I am quite happy now that I finally got my Unionbank EON card. I feel I now belong to the legitimate online money makers.
But for now, I want to share to you my experience hoping that others will learn from it especially beginners who want to apply. However, this is not to insult any establishment or to degrade them. I just thought that it’s my responsibility as a service customer to inform everybody. Read more of this >>

If you are not a big fan of GMA-7’s Korean telenovela – Money War, then you are missing one-third of your life. I did not watch all the episodes, but I understand clearly what the message wanted to convey. In case you missed it, it is a good story of how money can do badly to us.
It focused on people involved in private money lending business, and how good they are. It emphasized how you can be successful in it, but be the worst nightmare for your clients. While there is a bit touch of romance, this was not delivered as sweet as lovers would expect. Actually, it was very uncommon but realistic. In fact, the ending was sad but was meant to be. I would like to reserve this post as my small but sincere contribution to Blog Action Day 2008, and poverty as the main topic. This event is now being joined by thousands of bloggers, organizations, and business sectors around the globe. Here is my share and hopefully, it can help.
Poverty is a deadly disease that no one has provided the best solution yet, although some of us got close to it. Not that there is none, but it seems that the medication being given is only first aid, as doctors would call it. Social groups, wealthy businessmen and concerned citizens are going hand in hand but in effect, the source of the virus is not being attacked. In fact, I do not even believe that giving money to the poor is the better approach.
I should know, simply because I have been there! I started to earn a living at the age of 10, and was force to stop during High Shool for three consecutive years due to severe poverty. I do not need to mention more details here since anyone can easily find them at my About Me page and Interviews. Read more of this >>

Admit it, life is hard these days wherever you are. Oil prices are increasing rapidly and sad to say, it seems to be uncontrollable. As this happens, a fast chain reaction follows up to the basic family needs such as groceries. The best that we can do is to think of ways on how to save money when going to the grocery. And because I am among those who are greatly affected, I searched for some tips through the Internet. Although there may be a lot of them, here are some that I tried at home and proven effective.
Make a comprehensive plan
One may think that making a list of groceries is enough to save money. Although it may help when you control what you buy, it would be better if you also consider the place of the grocery. How far is it from your home? Have you tried comparing of the price between the farther and the nearer store? A nearer place does not mean that the price is cheaper, as it also depends on the location. If there is a warehouse around, their price is much lower. In addition, prices are usually lower during mid-week days and a once-a-week shop is better. Read more of this >>
