Recently, a certain Asthme left a comment on one of my blog posts. This is when I announced that I now have a personal blog, which is incidentally a blog with multiple topics.

According to him, he wants to combine his blogs with three different topics. It seems though that he would like to follow my path in blogging since his blog topics are almost the same as mine. Welcome to Part Three and the final chapter on how to promote a blog for beginners post series, and I think this is the most important part. But before we proceed, let me give you a recap on the previous parts.

In Part One, I discussed a bit about the principles of SEO, submitting articles to article directories, and some ways on how to start meeting fellow fellow bloggers. On the other hand, Part Two focused on being sociable as a blogger to promote a blog. The first two parts therefore, focus on spending time away from your blog. Although all of them are effective, but its success will still depend on you.

Here in Part Three, I will discuss on how to promote a blog without going elsewhere but only on your blog. Therefore, this post will focus on how you can manage your blog and use it as a promotion tool itself. Here in Part Two, I will focus of being sociable as a blogger. To promote a blog, it does not only require hard work and patience, but also the ability to convince visitors to read your blog. Simultaneously, these strategies will also a big help to increase your backlinks. However, they will make you busy so I suggest you also know how to manage your time.

After more than 2 years of blogging, I can say that I am still far from being an expert. However, I think I can already share some of my knowledge and experience on how to promote a blog especially for beginners. This is also with the help of the blogs I read as well as from the Darren Rowse’ Problogger Book which I won from a contest.

But I must remind you that promoting a blog effectively does not necessary mean that you will make good money, not unless you treat your blog as a business. Nevertheless, most high traffic blogs are making good money from advertisers and Google Adsense.

If you are not new in this blog, you know that I don’t usually recommend products or sites that you can make money from. This is because I think this is not the right blog to do so. However, I also think it’s just fine to share to you my experience as a member of myLot. I have been a member for several months, but it’s only lately that I put extra effort to post.

Actually, it was Jenaisle who referred this site to me last year and I am glad she did. In myLot, one can make money from forum posting, and leaving comments on others posts. It is a fact that subscribers will help your blog to stay alive. This is because they are your regular readers and it takes a lot of hard work increase them even if you using the most attractive RSS Icon in town.

But the worst thing that can happen is that they are getting few, and you cannot force them to stay. One thing is for sure, you are doing some things that your subscribers do not like. As a blog subscriber myself, here are some of the main factors that stops me from subscribing.

Long and boring posts

While it is alright to write long posts, they should not be boring. On the contrary, they must be more interesting as they are reading it. This is where your creativity comes in. If you want to write long posts, learn how to minimize grammatical errors and avoid useless words and phrases. Be straight in what you want to say.
